The new school term in Thailand, which began on May 16, could proceed with online classes if health threats to students arise, including the spread of COVID-19, excessive heat or high levels of air pollution, the Thai government has said.
International and local English lecturers have discussed teaching methodologies during a recent outline conference as the COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted teachers’ traditional face-to-face classrooms and shifted into e-learning settings.
Schools will stay closed if the COVID-19 situation in the local area remains high risk, while those classified as low risk will consider local circumstances in deciding upon a reopening date, said an education official.
