Online Vietnamese contest to be held in Ukraine

The Vietnamese community in Ukraine’s Kharkov province is planning to hold an online Vietnamese language contest in the Eastern European nation.

Kiev (VNA) – The Vietnamese community in Ukraine’s Kharkov province isplanning to hold an online Vietnamese language contest in the Eastern Europeannation.

The information was revealed during the April 26 online annual conference ofthe Vietnamese Association in Kharkov’s Vietnamese language division to reviewtasks carried out last year and launch upcoming lesson plans and extracurricularactivities.

The contest, part of the events to commemorate the 130th birth anniversary of latePresident Ho Chi Minh (May 19), encourages participants to study his life andcareer, especially his great love for children.

Top scorers from the first round will qualify for the final.

During the conference, First Vice President of the Vietnamese Association VuHuy Duong said the Vietnamese language division took the initiative to arrangeonline classes in mid-March after the Ukrainian government announced socialdistancing rules to curb the spread of COVID-19.

After one week, all classes were switched to online, he noted./.
