Vietnam News Agency wins four prizes at 2025 National Press Festival

Hanoi (VNA) 💦- The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) earned top honours at the 2025 National Press Festival, which wrapped up in Hanoi on June 21, securing two A and two B prizes for its innovative journalism and striking exhibition presence.

VietnamPlus e-newspaper of the VNA clinched an A prize in the “Outstanding Press Product” category for its immersive 3D multimedia project, “Epic of Reunification,” a groundbreaking blend of storytelling and technology. The VNA won another A prize for its eye-catching exhibition booth. In addition, the Spring 2025 edition of VNA’s Tuan Tin Tuc (Weekend News) took a B prize for the best newspaper covers, while photojournalist Nguyen Khanh Hoa earned a B prize in the photojournalism category for “Tuong – A distinctive traditional Vietnamese theatre”, a vivid portrayal of the nation’s cultural heritage. The festival awarded a total of 5 A, 7 B, 16 C, and 19 consolation prizes for impressive booths, along with 3 A, 3 B, and 12 C prizes for impressive events and activities.
In his closing speech, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA) and head of the organising board Nguyen Duc Loi hailed the three-day event as a success.

Held by the VJA under the guidance of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilisation, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the festival featured nearly 130 booths from over 80 central and local press agencies, showcasing a century of journalistic achievements.
This year’s festival stood out for its embrace of multimedia journalism and cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality, and augmented reality. These innovations reflect the media’s drive to keep pace with global trends and connect with modern audiences, Loi said. Thematic forums on AI in journalism, digital media workforce, and the press economy also drew attention, underscoring the industry’s rapid evolution. Top Party and State leaders attended the event, toured the exhibition and offered encouragement to journalists nationwide./.
