Optimal conditions pledged for ADB-funded urban project in Thua Thien-Hue

Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue Nguyen Van Phuong received a working group from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on October 3, during which he pledged that the province will create optimal conditions for a ADB-funded resilient and sustainable urban development project.

Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – Vice Chairman of the People’sCommittee of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue Nguyen Van Phuong receiveda working group from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on October 3, duringwhich he pledged that the province will create optimal conditions for aADB-funded resilient and sustainable urban development project.

The project aims to help the Ministry of Construction complete astrategy for national urban development, while supporting the realisation of nationaltargets on urban system development through action plans on urban development.

It also gives guidelines for improving national urban planning in tandemwith climate change response, while applying pilot models and action plans forclimate change adaption for some localities.

In Thua Thien-Hue, the group asked for the province’s support in sitesurveying and data collection for the project.

Phuong lauded the objectives of the project and promised to provide allnecessary information to the group.

He also expressed his hope that the group will help the province tackleproblems in traffic, climate change warning, as well as preserving andpromoting heritage.

The four-year project was approved at a cost of 2.755 million USD.-VNA
