Hanoi (VNA)𓆉 - Choosing the meaningful occasion of Vietnamese Family Day on June 28, Singapore-based Vietnamese author Tina Yuan launched two travel books about Vietnam and Greece.

With “Nhung Dam Duong To Quoc” (The Homeland Miles) and “Duoi Troi Xanh Hy Lap” (Under the Blue Sky of Greece), Tina Yuan affirmed that Vietnam is her homeland, while the distant Mediterranean land has become her second family. In “The Homeland Miles,” Vietnam emerges with its rustic yet profound beauty, from the gentle waterways of the countryside, the mist-covered mountain ranges, to the bustling rhythms of urban life. It is not only a journey through geographical spaces, but also a journey back into memory: a grandfather whose deep national pride is woven into every story he tells, friends who bring her sweet and familiar experiences, a childhood filled with emotional fragments, and the simple, everyday moments of modern life.
Meanwhile, “Under the Blue Sky of Greece” opens a poetic journey where the land of ancient mythology comes to life not only through its solemn relics, the brilliant sunlight, or the iconic blue hues of the Aegean Sea, but also through the author's delicate layers of emotions and reflections. In Greece, Tina Yuan felt that she was not merely setting foot in a foreign land, but also stepping into an entirely different world where history, art, cuisine, and people blend into a vibrant symphony. Her experiences there, from simple, flavour-rich meals, brief yet heartfelt encounters, to incomplete but sincere and profound love stories, are captured in a writing style that is deeply feminine, quiet yet evocative.

Releasing both works simultaneously is a significant challenge, but the author wishes to affirm that no matter where she is, the inspiration for writing always stems from love - love for people, for beauty, and for truth. For her, this is also a gesture of gratitude to the homeland where she was born and to the country that taught her humility, tolerance, and the resilience to keep moving forward. These two works mark an important transformation in Tina Yuan’s writing style, from personal narratives to a broader perspective on culture, people, and the emotional connections that transcend borders. Attending the book launch ceremony, Christos Chatzopoulos, Deputy Ambassador of Greece to Vietnam, expressed his appreciation for Tina Yuan’s work. He noted that the book beautifully highlights the charm of Greece, its land, people, and culture, through the author’s unique lens./.
Tina Yuan (real name Nguyen Thi Thuong) is a Vietnamese author based in Singapore. A fluent polyglot and passionate traveller, she has explored over 100 countries and holds a Master’s degree in Global Business from Coventry University (UK). In addition to her role as a business development director, Tina is an investor in fine art, wine, and tea ventures. As a writer, she brings a reflective and emotionally rich voice to her work, weaving together cultural insight, historical depth, and personal introspection. Her writing invites readers to explore the profound connections between people, places, and identity. Tina has been featured on the covers of Vietnam Family and Vietnam Women’s magazines, and is widely regarded as a symbol of the modern, independent, and globally engaged woman.
