Over 5,600 babies born via in-vitro fertilisation at Tu Du Hospital

HCM City (VNA) – Women have given birth to atotal of 5,643 babies via in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) at Tu Du ObstetricsHospital in HCM City since 1998, according to the hospital, one of the leadersin offering IVF services in the country.

Its IVF success rate, which is among the highest in thecountry, nearly doubled from 25 percent in 2011 to more than 45 per cent lastyear.

According to Dr Le Quang Thanh, head of the hospital, it notonly provides maternal and child care but also offers technical support forhospitals in 32 cities and provinces in the south.

The hospital, which celebrated its 80th anniversary lastweek, receives around 3,500 medical treatment and health-check cases and morethan 200 delivery cases per day.-VNA
