HCM City (VNA) – One hundred overseas Vietnamese (OVs) returning from28 nations and territories on February 1 offered incense at the Hung KingsMemorial Site in the National Historical and Cultural Park in Ho Chi Minh City,starting a series of activities of the “Xuan Que huong 2024” (Homeland Spring)programme.
On this occasion, the city’s ManagementAuthority for Urban Railways (MAUR) organised a full-line test run on MetroLine 1 linking Ben Thanh in District 1 with Suoi Tien in Thu Duc city to serveOVs.
Within the framework of the programme, OVswill have chances to join a lot of activities to enjoy the Tet atmosphere.

The “Xuan Que huong” programme is held annually on the threshold of the LunarNew Year (Tet) – the biggest and longest festival in a year of Vietnamesepeople – for outstanding Vietnamese people living abroad. The programme isattended by leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, as well as theMinistry of Foreign Affairs, and other ministries, and localities.
This is the largest political, external andcultural event connecting Vietnamese people at home and abroad, and also anopportunity for Party and State leaders to listen to the thoughts andaspirations of OVs./.
“Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring), the biggest cultural event for overseas Vietnamese (OVs) on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet), will take place from February 1-2 (the 22nd and 23rd days of the last month in the Year of the Cat) in Ho Chi Minh City with various activities, according to the organising board.
