Party Economic Commission to propose industry expansion policies

Designing a strategy for the development of material industries supporting national industrialisation and modernisation from 2015-2020 is among the key tasks of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission for the rest of the year, as heard at a conference on July 28.
Designing a strategy for the development of material industriessupporting national industrialisation and modernisation from 2015-2020is among the key tasks of the Party Central Committee’s EconomicCommission for the rest of the year, as heard at a conference on July28.

In the last six months of 2015, the commissionwill also focus on orientations for policies to boost Vietnam’sindustries from 2016-2020, and on speeding up the industrialisation ofthe agriculture sector in association with the building of new-stylerural areas.

Through studying the developments ofthe population, the commission will propose policies for the country’ssustainable growth and tourism improvement.

Thecommission plans to research scientific and practical factors forsocio-economic expansion along the land border line.

At the same time, the commission will build policies to mobilise andenhance the efficiency of official development assistance and foreignpreferential loans serving socio-economic growth for 2016-2020 andbeyond.

The commission is also tasked with givingadvice on policies for regional and cross-regional economic growth, aswell as business type reform during the economic restructuring process.

It is also expected to propose specific policies fornuclear power projects and measures to conclude Trans-PacificPartnership negotiations.

Along with assessingproposals on economics, the commission will also instruct and supervisethe implementation of resolutions by the Party Central Committee,Politburo and Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, especially those onregional economic development.

Another major taskfor the commission is to continue contributing ideas to draft politicalreports at Party Congresses in provinces and cities and building draftdocuments for the 12th National Congress.-VNA
