Party official receives outgoing Japanese ambassador

Hanoi (VNA) - Politburo member, permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and Chairwoman of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Truong Thi Mai on April 23 received outgoing Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio.
Mai, who is also Chairwoman of the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, praised the diplomat’s significant contributions to the comprehensive and strong growth of the countries’ relations over the past four years.
She said during his tenure, the two countries successfully co-organised activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties last year. Among them were high-level phone talks between Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio as well as the upgrade of bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.
Appreciating support from the Vietnamese Party, State, ministries, and organisations, including the friendship parliamentarians’ group, the ambassador expressed his delight at outstanding progress made in the Vietnam-Japan ties across sectors as well as the Party, State, parliamentary, people-to-people, and locality-to-locality channels.
He pledged to make efforts to foster the development of the countries’ friendship and cooperation in any future capacity, contributing to deepening and translating into reality the content of the Japan-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership./.
The elevation of the Vietnam-Japan relationship to a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World” serves as an impulse for the bilateral relations to grow further in the time ahead.

At the working session, General Secretary Lam presented the Party Committee of the VFF and central mass organisations with the Politburo’s Decision No. 304-QD/TW, which outlines the new structure, functions and tasks of the VFF Central Committee, marking a significant step in improving its organisational effectiveness.
Describing the exhibition as a large-scaled, content-rich, and unprecedented event with high requirements and limited preparation time, PM Pham Minh Chinh urged all ministries, sectors, and localities to participate with the highest sense of responsibility, ensuring the exhibition is inclusive, objective, truthful, feasible, and impactful.
Vietnam’s attendance reaffirms its consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification, and comprehensive, intensive, extensive and effective international integration.
Cheng stressed that this is third time PM Chinh has attended the meeting and he is among the few senior government officials participating in this year's event, which is considered as a rare and commendable gesture.
The fact that the Vietnamese PM has been invited to attend and speak at this important event for three consecutive years reflects the WEF as well as the international business community's recognition and high regard for Vietnam's position, role, and contributions to global and regional economic growth.
This new era marks a crucial phase in which the country must strive with determination to fulfil its strategic objectives, achieving breakthrough development at new levels of sophistication, quality, and global standing, laying the foundation for further growth. Era after era forms a continuous history of development, ascending steadily from one level to the next.
The resolution on such mechanisms aims to serve as a legal basis for opportunely dealing with difficulties and hindrances caused by legal regulations in important, priority, and urgent areas that require immediate settlement so as to unlock resources, facilitate economic development, and turn legislation into a competitive edge.
PM Pham Minh Chinh instructed chairpersons of the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to strictly follow the Ministry of Finance's guidelines on handling public finances and budgets, with a focus on preventing wastefulness, misconduct, or corruption.
Knapper reaffirmed the US's commitment to supporting a strong, independent, prosperous and resilient Vietnam, while respecting each other’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence and political systems.
Vietnam is deeply concerned about the escalating and complex conflict in the Middle East, which poses a serious threat to the lives and safety of civilians, as well as to regional and global peace and stability.
