Petrol imports climb 3.5 percent in January

Hanoi (VNA) - Petrolimports totalled 900,000 tonnes, worth 552 million USD in the first month ofthe year, up 3.5 percent in volume and 10.9 percent in value year on year, accordingto the General Department of Customs.

However, the figures represented a decrease of 28.2percent in volume and 27.1 percent in value from the previous month.

Accordingto the agency, in January, Vietnam’s export-import value reached 38.3 billionUSD –up 39.9 percent compared to a year earlier but down 3.1 percent comparedto December 2017.

Theexport value was estimated at 19 billion USD, rising by 33.1 percent year onyear and falling 3.3 percent from the previous month.

Theimport value was projected at 19.3 billion USD, up 47.4 percent year on year,and down 3 percent month on month.

The mainexports were mobile phones and spare parts, worth 4.2 billion USD, up 7.7percent from the previous month, and 80.7 percent from a year ago.

InJanuary, exports of garment-textile, and computers and spare parts wereestimated at 2.3 billion USD and 2.2 billion USD, up 7.6 percent and 37.9percent year on year, respectively.-VNA
