Speaking at the opening ceremony, Cuba’s ViceMinister for Culture Fernando Leon Jacomino highlighted the historic milestonesof the two countries’ ties, particularly the visit by Fidel Castro to Vietnamin September 1973. Despite the danger, he was the first and onlyforeign Head of State to pay a visit to a newly liberated area in the centralprovince of Quang Tri. The visit was a symbol of the special sentiment between thetwo nations, Jacomino noted. For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le ThanhTung spoke highly of the holding of the event, especially in a public placenamed after José Martí, a hero of Cuba and one of the first to nurture theempathy and mutual understanding between Cuba and Vietnam. On showcase are 60 photos provided by the VietnamNews Agency and Cuba’s State news agency Prensa Latina. The exhibition will run until December 9./.
The 60th anniversary of Vietnam - Cuba diplomatic relations was celebrated on December 2 (1960 - 2020), with the special amity filled with outstanding milestones in mutual support, from Vietnam’s past struggle for national independence to the two nations’ current fight against COVID-19.
Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on December 2 sent greetings to First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Raul Castro Ruz and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
The Vietnamese Party, State and people always treasure and want to further deepen the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation with their Cuban counterparts, a top leader has said.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.

In recent decades, Vietnam’s mainstream media has become a reliable and persuasive channel for showcasing the nation’s development policies and achievements, especially in economic matters, according to a senior assistant editor at the Times of India.
A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
The official launch of Emirates’ Dubai–Da Nang route on June 2 has sparked a “tourism revolution” for Vietnam’s central coastal city. Da Nang is emerging as a top destination for high-end travelers, particularly from the lucrative Middle Eastern market.
