Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung described the Vietnam – Germany University projec𒆙t as a “lighthouse” in the two countries’ ties while receiving Minister for Science and the Arts of Germany’s Hessen state Boris Rhein in Hanoi on November 6.

He thanked the European nation for helping Vietnam build and put the university into operation and expressed his hope for further assistance to the school’s operations in order to ensure its success in training high-quality manpower.
Meanwhile, Vietnam will continue fine-tuning mechanisms and policies to facilitate the university’s development, he added. The leader also voiced pleasures over the progress in the Vietnam – Germany strategic partnership, pledging concerted efforts to join Germany in developing bilateral relations in an effective fashion, particularly cooperation in politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, education, and science-technology.
At the meeting, Boris Rhein highly valued Vietnam’s comprehensive socio-economic accomplishments along with its moves to renovate education in line with the international trend. He stressed that Hessen state will strengthen coordination with the countries’ ministries and sectors in effectively realising joint agreements and programmes, including extending supports towards the successful operation of the Vietnam – Germany University.-VNA
