Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phucreceived representatives of the Vietnam Association for Women Entrepreneurs inHanoi on March 2.
At the meeting ahead of International Women’sDay (March 8), participants expressed their satisfaction of the country’seconomic development in recent years, noting that under the Government’sleadership, Vietnam’s stature has been promoted in the international arena.
The reduction of 50 percent of business-relatedadministrative procedures has facilitated the development of enterprises, manyof which run by women entrepreneurs have spread their reach to the region andthe world, they said.
PM Phuc spoke highly of the role of and majorcontributions to national development by women, including entrepreneurs.
Aside from fulfilling the role in theirfamilies, they have also won big successes in their careers and done much forthe society, he said, attributing those achievements to their boldness andsteadfast efforts to weather all difficulties to move forwards.
The Government leader wished women entrepreneurshealth, happiness, activeness and creativeness to further contribute tonational development.-VNA
Vietnam aims at having 350,000 women-owned firms by 2020, meaning the number of female entrepreneurs must triple in the next three years, a rate even faster than the overall growth speed of business volume nationwide.
A one-year management training course for some 200 female entrepreneurs has just been completed under a project run by Tinh Thuong One Member Limited Liability Microfinance Institution (TYM) and the New York-based Citi Foundation.
