PM lauds Coca-Cola’s operations in Vietnam

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has lauded operation of the US firm, Coca-Cola, in Vietnam, with the generation of thousands of jobs and the production of diverse products using domestic materials.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has lauded operation of the US firm,Coca-Cola, in Vietnam, with the generation of thousands of jobs and theproduction of diverse products using domestic materials.

Along with fulfillingtax responsibilities, the firm has also actively engaged in social activities,the PM said while receiving Calin Dragan, Director of Coca-Cola’s BottlingInvestments Group in Southeast Asia and the Middle East in Hanoi on October 26.

The PM pledged thatthe Vietnamese Government always creates favourable conditions and mechanismfor investors.

Recalling his meetingwith the Vietnamese leaders during his visit to the US in May 2017, Dragan saidthat he always remembers the PM’s suggestions, including the increase of using domesticmaterials.

Thanks to Vietnam’spolicy of creating favourable conditions, the firm has enjoyed good growth andbecome one of the 100 biggest tax payers in the country, he said.

Dragan revealed thatCoca-Cola is seeking a suitable area in Hanoi to open its fourth factory inVietnam, adding that the firm also plans to launch another factory in Ho ChiMinh City.

Dragan thanked theGovernment of Vietnam and PM Phuc for creating good environment forenterprises. He reaffirmed Coca-Cola’s commitments to fulfil both tax andsocial responsibilities.

The PM showed hisdelight at Coca-Cola plan to expand operation to the north of Vietnam,especially a plan to build a 300-million-USD factory in Hanoi.

The project isexpected to produce both traditional and nutritious products with higher addedvalue, using local materials, while generating jobs for thousands of direct andindirect labourers and developing a network of distribution. -VNA
