Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc receivedleaders of a number of foreign enterprises on April 26 in Beijing as part ofthe activities in his trip to the country to attend the ongoing second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

In the meeting with the Vietnamese Government leader, Chairman of theChina’s HongKong-based Sunwah Group JonathanChoi said the visit of PM Phuc helps enhance the Vietnam-China relations, thuscreating impetus for stronger cooperation between the two sides’ enterprises.

The official, who is also Chairman of the Hong Kong-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, saidhe had working sessions with representatives from the Vietnamese Ministry of Agricultureand Rural Development to discuss cooperation related to agriculture.

He added that he would lead a delegation of Hong Kong enterprises to visit Vietnamand invite Vietnamese firms to come to China for seeking cooperationopportunities in this field.

An investment promotion forum will be held in Hanoi in the coming time, aimingto foster investment ties between Hanoi and Guangdong province of China, hesaid, expressing his hope that the Vietnamese Government and PM Phuc will supportthe activity.

Apart from investment activities, Sunwah has also established a culture centre atthe Vietnam National University - Hanoi, and it plans to open one more of thiskind in Ho Chi Minh City, Choi said.

For his part, PM Phuc said the Vietnamese Government iswilling to facilitate cooperation between Hanoi and Guangdong, affirming that Vietnamis ready to welcome Chinese firms using environmentally friendly hightechnologies to invest in Vietnam.

He called on Hong Kong firms to expand their investment in more fields inVietnam, while suggesting Choi continue to promote the consumption of farmproduce in the Chinese market - the sphere that Vietnam boasts strength and greatpotential.

He proposed Sunwah to set up an innovation centre in Vietnam, and assigned theMinistry of Planning and Investment to work with Sunwah on this plan.

The same day, PM Phucmet with David Chow Kam Fai, Chairman of LegendDevelopment Ltd in Macau, China, during whichthe Chinese entrepreneur said he is very interested in the Vietnamese marketand wants to pour investment into tourism and hi-tech agriculture in thecountry.

The official said he spent 10 years to develop a technology for agriculturedevelopment, hoping that he can apply this in Vietnam.

Legendale wants to investin a tourism project in the central city of Da Nang, he said, expressing hishope that the Vietnamese Government will support and create favorable conditionfor the plan.

PM Phuc stressed that investment in hi-tech agriculture can bring benefits to farmers,and promised to assign Vietnam’s ministries, sectors and localities to considerthe proposal and work with the firm on relevant issues.-VNA
