PM to attend ASEAN summits in Philippines

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phucand his entourage will attend the 31st ASEAN Summit in Manila, the Philippines,from November 12-14 at the invitation of Philippine President RodrigoDuterte, the Foreign Ministry said on November 6. 

The Vietnamese delegation will also attend the 20th ASEAN 3Summit with China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (RoK); the ASEAN 1 Summitwith China, Japan, the RoK, India, the US, Canada, the European Union and theUnited Nations; and the 12th East Asia Summit (EAS).

On the occasion, the PM will also attend the ninth Mekong –Japan Summit and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP)Leaders’ Meeting.

ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, thePhilippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

EAS includes ASEAN and its eight dialogue partners --Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Russia, andthe United States.-VNA
