President Nguyen Xuan Phuc meets Russian business executives

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted receptions on December 2 for leaders of big Russian companies which have business ties in Vietnam, namely the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Gazprom, Novatek, Sistema and Miratorg.

Moscow (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted receptions on December 2for leaders of big Russian companies which have business ties in Vietnam, namely the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Gazprom, Novatek, Sistema and Miratorg.

Duringthe meetings, the Vietnamese President praised the strength of Russianenterprises and investors. He said Vietnam, with one of the highest economic growthrate and largest amount of foreign investment attracted in the region, hasalways created favourable conditions for foreign investors, including thosefrom Russia.

He expressed a wish that Russian businesses expand their investment in andcooperation with Vietnam so as to tap the potential and strength of bothcountries and meet their needs, contributing to promoting the bilateralstrategic partnership.
         
Meeting with CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev, President Phuc appreciated the fund’scontribution to the successful research and production of Sputnik V and SputnikLight, the first COVID-19 vaccines in the world. He welcomed the cooperationbetween the fund and Vietnamese partners in transferring production technologyfor COVID-19 vaccine and drug, and asked the fund to help Vietnam access Russia’svaccine and treatment drug.   
         
Talkingto the chairman of Sistema, VladimirYevtushenkov, the Presidentwelcomed the group for cooperating with Vietnam in the supply of vaccine,treatment drug and medical supplies, as well as in building a factory for theproduction of vaccine and drugs in Hai Phong city. He asked the group to workwith Vietnam in agriculture and forestry, in which both countries havepotential.

Meetingwith Deputy Chairwoman of the Gazprom Management Committee Elena Burmistrova, theVietnamese President affirmed that oil and gas and energy are among pillars ofthe Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership. He pledged to createfavourable conditions for Gazprom to expand its investment in Vietnam to newfields of both sides’ potential and needs, such as gas-fuelled power, and fuelfor transport.

Phucthanked Novatek group for giving Vietnam vaccine, and welcomed the cooperativedeal inked between Novatek and Vietnam’s PVPower. He affirmed that Vietnam isready to facilitate the participation of foreign investors, including Novatek,in energy and oil and gas projects in Vietnam.       

Atthe meeting with President of Miratorg Victor Linnik, the Vietnamese Stateleader applauded agricultural cooperation between Vietnam and Russia and thefact that Russia has become the second largest exporter of meat to Vietnam. Hewelcomed the group’s proposal on expanding bilateral partnership inagriculture.

Leadersof the Russian companies highlighted the potential of the Vietnamese market forinvestment and cooperation. They affirmed that their companies will continue tojoin hands with Vietnamese partners to implement signed projects and dealswhile considering the prospect of expanding their operations in Vietnam.
The same day, President Phuc visited the headquarters of Zarubezhneft company and met with generations of Russian leaders and experts who have worked at the Vietnam-Russia oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro./.
