Seoul, April 7 (VNA) – Politburo member and Minister of Public Security To Lam paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Han Duck-soo in Seoul on April 7 as part of his trip to the Republic of Korea.

Minister Lam said Vietnam always considers the RoK a leading important partner in all fields, particularly economy, politics, diplomacy, security and defence.

He held that Vietnam is committed to supporting a Korean Peninsula of peace, stability, cooperation, development and denuclearisation.

PM Han, for his part, lauded the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership and expressed his wish for the relationship's strong development in the time to come.

Han hoped the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security will create favourable conditions for and tackle difficulties facing Korean citizens, particularly businessmen operating in the Southeast Asian nation.

In response, Lam stated his ministry will facilitate investment and business activities of Korean firms in Vietnam. He proposed the RoK continue to assist Vietnam in improving its law enforcement capacity as well as ensuring national security and social order and safety.  

In the afternoon of the same day, Minister Lam and his delegation had separate meetings with Commissioner General of the Korean National Police Agency Yoon Hee-keun, and Commissioner General of the Korea Coast Guard Kim Jong-uk, aiming to boost the sides’ cooperation in crime prevention and control./.
