The central province of Quang Ngai has set forth a number of keysocio-economic tasks for the second half of this year during the 20thconference of the provincial Party Committee on June 25.
They include adjustments to the socio-economic development plans for anumber of districts and cities, and making a master plan for thedevelopment of the island district of Ly Son together with reviewing theuse of land in the Dung Quat Economic Zone and other industrial zones.
The province will accelerate a project torestructure the agricultural sector towards raising added value andsustainable development and create incentives for developing productbrand names.
In the first half of this year, theprovincial GDP was estimated at more than 6 trillion VND (284.2 millionUSD), 49 percent of the yearly target.
Theindustrial production value reached 11.6 trillion VND (541 million USD),accounting for more than 52 percent of the year’s plan, and theagricultural, forest and aquaculture sectors posted a production valueof 1.5 trillion VND (69.4 million USD).
As ofthe end of June, the province had two communes recognised as new-stylerural areas, meeting all requirements of the national buildingprogramme.
Budget collections totalled 16.4trillion VND (49.3 percent of the year’s target), to which the Dung QuatRefinery contributed 14.5 trillion VND.-VNA
