Quang Tri to build 600 billion VND hydropower plant

The People’s Committee of the central province of Quang Tri has decided to build a hydropower plant worth nearly 600 billion VND (26.4 million USD) in Huong Hoa district.

Quang Tri (VNA) – The People’s Committee of the centralprovince of Quang Tri has decided to build a hydropower plant worth nearly 600billion VND (26.4 million USD) in Huong Hoa district.

The Huong Phung hydropower plant, covering 67.5 hectares inHuong Phung commune, will have two turbines with a combined capacity of 18 MW.Once operational, it will generate 76.8 million kWh per year.

The 30-year project will be implemented by Quang Tri EnergyJSC. Investment procedures and clearance work for the project will be completedby the end of September.

Construction is expected to start in October this year. It willbe connected to the national power grid in the first quarter of 2021.
