Reference exchange rate down 6 VND on April 17

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,893 VND/USD on April 17, down 6 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,138 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,648 VND/USD.

At 8:15 am, however, the opening-hour rates at major commercial banks went up.

Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,660 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,020 VND/USD, both up 20 VND from April 16.

Meanwhile, the respective rates at BIDV increased 30 VND to stand at 25,670 VND/USD and 26,030 VND/USD./.
