Hanoi (VNA) – The daily reference exchange rate for August 14was kept unchanged from the previous day at 22,686 VND/USD.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate appliedto commercial banks during the day is 23,366 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,006VND/USD.
The opening hour rates atcommercial banks saw slight increases from August 13.
Both Vietcombank and BIDV added 10 VND to both rates, listing the buyingrate at 23,270 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,350 VND/USD.
Techcombank also raised both rates by 10 VND, buying the greenback at23,250 VND per USD and selling at 23,350 VND/USD.-VNA
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) may sell part of its foreign reserves to stabilise the monetary market if the exchange rate continues to climb, the Saigon Securities Incorporation (SSI) forecast.
