The implementation of the Politburo’s resolution on orientations for the oil and gas sector development strategy is not only important to this sector but also creates opportunities for Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to make breakthroughs and become a growth powerhouse.

Tran Tuan Anh, Politburo member andChairman of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, made the remarkwhile addressing a working session with leaders of the southern province onApril 6.
He said that by implementing thePolitburo’s Resolution No 41-NQ/TW, Ba Ria - Vung Tau can become a growthpowerhouse and a centre of the energy industry, in terms of not only oil andgas but also wind power and other renewables in the future.

Mai Ngoc Thuan, Vice Chairman of theprovincial People’s Council, said the resolution has been institutionalised ina harmonious and timely manner, creating a sufficient, efficient, and effectivelegal corridor to help with the State’s management activities, energy security safeguarding,socio-economic development, and people’s daily activities and livelihoods,while serving as an important resource for developing other sectors andensuring defence - security.
The province has obtainedencouraging results in its efforts towards the resolution’s targets, including in petroleumexploration and exploitation, oil and gas processing, and power generation, henoted.
At the meeting, officials discussedsome issues related to the orientations and the development strategy for theoil and gas sector, central agencies and enterprises’ coordination with theprovince, and the building and management of the sector’s development plan.
They also pointed out existingproblems and their causes, while proposing some solutions on renewable energydevelopment./.
Located in the Southeast region, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province is working to full tap its natural advantages and defining clear priorities to attract investment, contributing to turning the southeast into a dynamic region with highest growth rate and the biggest growth driver of the country.
