RoK PM to attend national funeral of President Tran Dai Quang

Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Lee Nak-yon will arrive in Vietnam on September 25 to attend the national funeral of President Tran Dai Quang, announced the RoK Presidential Palace on September 24.

Seoul (VNA) – PrimeMinister of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Lee Nak-yon will arrive in Vietnam onSeptember 25 to attend the national funeral of President Tran Dai Quang,announced the RoK Presidential Palace on September 24.

According to Senior Secretary tothe President for Public Communications Yoon Young-chan, PM Lee will paytribute to the late President on September 26.

On September 22, President MoonJae-in expressed his regret and conveyed profound condolences to the family ofthe late President and the Vietnamese people over the great loss.

The same day, President of ItalySergio Mattarella cabled a message of condolences to acting President Dang ThiNgoc Thinh.

He extended the sinceresympathies of himself and the Italian people over the passing of the Vietnameseleader.

President Mattarella said thatthrough the exchange of congratulatory messages marking the 45th anniversary ofVietnam-Italy diplomatic ties several months ago, he and President Quang had affirmedthe importance of the strategic and dynamic partnership between the twonations.–VNA
