Hanoi (VNA) – The Republic of Korea (RoK) has proposed holdinghigh-level talks with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on March29 at Tongilgak, a DPRK building in the truce village of Panmunjom.

Kim Eui-kyeom, the Cheong Wa Dae (the Blue House)’s spokesman, told apress briefing in Seoul on March 21 that Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyonwill lead the three-member RoK delegation to the high-level talks. Two othermembers would be officials from the Blue House and the National IntelligenceService (NIS).

At the proposal of the RoK, the two sides will discuss basic matters forthe April inter-Korean summit during the high-level dialogue, such as summitschedules, dialogue agenda and delegations from each side. The inter-Korean summit would be followed by a summit between the US andthe DPRK. US President Donald Trump said he would meet with top DPRK leader KimJong Un by the end of May to achieve a permanent denuclearization on the Koreanpeninsula.-VNA
