Addressing the celebration,Chairman of the city’s Vietnam-Republic of Korea Friendship Association DiepDung highlighted the strong growth of Vietnam-RoK ties after the two countriesset up diplomatic relationship 26 years ago and strategic cooperativepartnership 9 years ago. The two countries are important partners of each otherin the fields of investment, trade, tourism, culture and people-to-peopleexchange.
Dung reviewed the association’sactivities in the past years to contribute to bilateral relations, including receivingRoK delegations on visit of the city, holding cultural exchange events, andco-sponsoring charity activities with RoK businesses in the city.
The Consul General of the RoK toHCM City, Lim Jae-hoon hailed the close friendly ties between the twocountries. He noted that the RoK is a major investment partner of Vietnam, withmore than 3,000 RoK firms doing business in the country.
