Hanoi (VNA) –🐓 The Saigon Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Corporation (Sabeco)produced a total of 1.72 billion litres of beer in 2017 and saw a 11 percentrevenue growth year-on-year, said the corporation.

Sabecocontinues to take the lead in the Vietnamese beverage market with a 40 percent share,amid increasing pressure from domestic and foreign competitors. TheMinistry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) in December 2017 sold all of its 343.6million shares or a 53.6 percent stake of Sabeco, for an estimated 110 trillionVND (4.89 billion USD). Anindividual investor purchased 20,000 Sabeco shares for 320,500 VND per sharewhile Vietnam Beverage Co Ltd scooped up the remainder for 320,000 VND pershare. Sabecocurrently owns 26 manufacturing plants, 10 trading subsidiaries and 37 branchesnationwide.-VNA
