Saigontex 2023 attracts over 1,300 domestic, foreign businesses

More than 1,300 businesses from 21 countries and territories are participating in the Vietnam Textile & Garment Industry Expo (Saigontex) 2023, the leading exhibition of the industry in Southeast Asia, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on April 5.

HCM City(VNA) – More than 1,300 businesses from 21 countries and territories areparticipating in the Vietnam Textile & Garment Industry Expo (Saigontex)2023, the leading exhibition of the industryin Southeast Asia, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on April 5.

Saigontex 2023 has thelargest scale since 1991, with nearly 2,000 booths. For the first time, aseparate "dye, yarn and chemicals" display area has been designed withthe engagement of 75 international suppliers.

On display are a variety of advanced technology solutions to open a new era ofsustainability for the textile industry. Saigontex 2023 is a good opportunityfor the Vietnamese textile and garment business community to seek partners, accessmodern technologies, and catch up with the current trend of the global textileindustry.

During the four-day event, a thematic conference will also be held toupdate the world economic situation and the garment and textile market.

Opening the function, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang saidthat the exhibition is expected to provide a good chance for businesses to seekpartners and suppliers, promoting their trade network and engaging deeper intothe global supply chain.

She advised the sector to focus on developing complete large-scale textile andgarment production chains and promoting green production, while actively seekingappropriate development directions, ensuring the long-term goal of developingthe industry in a sustainable way./.
