Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 1,500 tonnes of saltwill be provided for the central province of Ha Tinh to support people affectedby recent heavy rains and floods, according to a decision signed by DeputyPrime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on December 5.
The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to give theassistance to the province.
The provincial People’s Committee is responsiblefor receiving and allocating salt effectively to local residents.
Ha Tinh was the most severely-affected by heavy rains andfloods in October and November this year.
According to the provincial Committee for Natural DisasterPrevention and Search and Rescue, 93 communes with more than 24,000 householdswere flooded.
Floods damaged 723 hectares of rice fields, 1,415 hectares ofcrops, 400 hectares of fruit trees and peach trees, and over a dozen of tonnesof foodstuff.
Hundreds of thousands of livestock were killed or swept away,including more than 99,000 poultries, 869 buffaloes and cows, and 399 pigs.
A combined of 337 hectares of aquaculture areas weresubmerged.-VNA
The Government’s support for residents effected by the mass fish deaths in the four central provinces has been delivered in a timely manner and to the right people.
As many as 40 tonnes of rice were provided to 2,000 fishing households in the central province of Quang Tri who were affected by the recent marine environmental incident.
Nearly 6,900 tonnes of rice will be provided for the central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh to support people affected by storms and floods this year.
