
HCM City (VNA) -Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, hasinaugurated its 45 million USD manufacturing plant in Ho Chi Minh City’s Sai GonHi-tech Park.
The plant is one of the largest factories in Schneider Electric’snetwork of 200 production units globally.
Equipped with advanced technology, the plant will producehigh-tech electronic products for smart homes, in addition to traditionalwiring products that are being manufactured in Vietnam since almost 20 years.
The plant uses LEAN manufacturing concepts and the group’s latestenergy and process management solutions, which will allow it to flex and scaleaccording to its customers’ buying behaviour.
“The world is moving beyond stand-alone devices into an era whereeverything is connected. In the recent years, with the rapidly-growing IoT,smart home devices are becoming more prevalent. With this new plant, we areseeing a great opportunity to proudly manufacture "Made in Vietnam"products and deliver solutions to customers in global markets. We aim to bringmore smart home devices produced from this plant to million households not onlyin Vietnam, but also other countries, and help them experience the mostadvanced technology based on IoT and automation”, said Mr. Jim Tobojka, SeniorVice President, Schneider Electric Global Supply Chain, East Asia, Japan, andPacific.
One of the plant’s highlights is its commitment to sustainabledevelopment in Vietnam.
In order to meet future needs, Schneider Electric has beentraining human resources for the new plant, and has simultaneously employedskilful workers and engineers.
The local staff will be able to improve their technical skillsthrough national, regional and global training programmes, as well as throughopportunities to work in different countries and regions where the group haspresence.
The investment into a manufacturing factory reinforces SchneiderElectric’s long-term commitment to help Vietnam grow in terms of technologicaladvances and human resource development for efficient energy management.
