Seaplane flights give tourists aerial view of Ha Long Bay

A tourist seaplane route from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay was launched on Sept. 9.
Hai Au Aviation Joint Stock Company launched a tourist seaplane routefrom Hanoi to Ha Long Bay, in the northern coastal province of QuangNinh, on September 9.

From September 10 onwards, the airline willoperate 1-3 flights a day between the two destinations and 5-10 flightsa day over the World Natural Heritage Site Ha Long Bay.

Flyingtime from the capital to the bay will be approximately 30 minutes. Aone-way flight from Hanoi to Ha Long costs more than 5.3 million VND(close to 250 USD) per passenger.

Once the third seaplane isshipped to Vietnam in December, the firm will expand its operations to anumber of touristy destinations in the southern central and southernregions, such as Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Da Lat, Con Dao, Phu Quoc and CanTho, Hai Au’s General Director Luong Hoai Nam said.

The companyalso provides customised flights for special customers and Stateagencies, and plans to expand its services to neighbouring countries.

Ministerof Transport Dinh La Thang said the seaplane service will helpdiversify transport means and pledged his support for the operation anddevelopment of this type of aviation service.-VNA
