Significance of NA Chairman’s official visit to India spotlighted

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has highlighted the great political significance of his on-going visit to India, especially in the context that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused negative impacts on international relations, and all aspects of socio-economic life in countries.

Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly Chairman VuongDinh Hue has highlighted the great political significance of his on-going visitto India, especially in the context that the COVID-19 pandemic has causednegative impacts on international relations, and all aspects of socio-economiclife in countries.  


In an interview granted to Indian press agencies, the top Vietnamese legislatorsaid that the visit demonstrates the respect and desire of both Vietnam and Indiato further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the twocountries in general and the relations between their legislative bodies inparticular.

According to NA Chairman Hue, his trip is hoped to create a new impetus for thebilateral relations, and offer a chance for the two sides to understand more about policieson socio-economic development and foreign affairs of each country.

Leaders of the two countries can took the occasion to compare their notes of internationaland global issues of common concern, and seek solutions to globalchallenges, thus contributing to peace, security, stability and development inthe region and the world, he said.

Parliamentary cooperation between Vietnam and India is one ofthe important and effective cooperation channels, and an integral part of theVietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, he affirmed, expressing hisbelief that India will become one ofVietnam's leading important partners in areas if politics, economy, trade,investment, security-defence, science-technology, culture, and education-training in the near future.

According to the Vietnamese leader, in order tofurther promote trade and investment relations between the two countries in thecoming time, their ministries of industry and trade should soon convene the 5thmeeting of the joint sub-committee on trade to seek measures to promptlyremove trade barriers and promote exports to each other's market.

Governments and businesses of both countries need toenhance trade promotion activities and create more favourable conditions for Vietnameseand Indian enterprises, he added.

The investment ties between the two countries is not commensurate with thepotential, Hue noted, stating that Vietnam always welcomes Indian businesses toexpand investment in the Southeas✱t Asiannation, especially in the areas of their strengths./.
