Hanoi (VNA) – The Mui Ne solar power plant in Mui Ne ward in Phan Thiet cityof the south-central province of Binh Thuan was connected to the national gridand began commercial operation on June 12.

Theplant was built with a budget worth over 1 trillion VND (42.78 million USD),invested by the Duc Thanh Mui Ne company.

The40 MWp plant, spanning 38 ha, is connected to the grid at a 110 kV powerstation. More than 100,000 solar panels were installed.

Accordingto the Ministry of Industry and Trade, 121 solar power projects have been addedto the national and provincial electricity development plans. They are expectedto have a combined capacity of 6,100 MW before 2020.–VNA
