Hanoi (VNA)♏ – Around 49,000 doses of the 6-in-1 vaccine will be available in Vietnam in 2016, the Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV) under the Ministry of Health said on November 12.

The representative office of GlaxoSmithKline Pte.Ltd in Vietnam said that this year, the company has provided roughly 38,000 doses of INFANRIX HEXA (6-in-1) for Vietnam.
Of which, 4,000 doses have been given to the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City for clinical research and the remaining 34,000 doses have been provided for medical establishments.
INFANRIX HEXA vaccine protects babies from six infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), Hepatitis B, polio and Haemophilus influenza type B (HiB), where pertussis is in its non-active form.  The global demand for the vaccine with non-active pertussis has increased recently due to the expansion of national immunisation programmes and limited supplies, the company said.-VNA
