The Song Than Industrial Park in southern Binh Duong province pledges todo its utmost to support foreign-invested businesses hurt by recentsocial disorder to maintain their investment flow in the locality.
Huynh Uy Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Directorof the Dai Nam Joint Stock Company, the main investor in the Song ThanIP, made the commitment at a May 27 working session with representativesfrom 10 FDI enterprises, which all specialise in manufacturing Asamabicycle spare parts in the park.
Dung also informedparticipants about a plan to aid the businesses in resuming theirproduction and ensuring jobs for their workers. He pledged to allow theActive International Vietnam Co., Ltd, a manufacturer of bicyclesaddles, use 5,000 square metres at the IP without paying land use feesfor 5-10 years.
Affected businesses will also be free to use18,000 square metres of land to stock their products and materialsduring the process of restoring their production.
Dai Nam JSCwill allow FDI enterprises to unconditionally use the Tan DinhIndustrial Cluster as a temporary place for their production, he said,adding the company will provide furnished accommodation for experts andstaff working at the IP.
A representative from Asama Co., Ltd said the support is very timely and will help the company soon resume its production.
Tran Van Lieu, head of the managing board of Binh Duong’s IPs,required FDI companies operating in the Song Than IP 2 to count theirreal loss caused by the disturbances and submit a report on the damageto the board for its consideration as soon as possible.
He alsosuggested the firms pay for workers’ days off during the rallies andwork with relevant agencies to tackle difficulties.
Thedisturbances erupted during workers’ rallies in protest of China’sillegal placement of its oil rig Haiyang Shiyou – 981 in Vietnam’scontinental shelf and exclusive economic zone from early May.
Some extremists incited others to destroy property of foreign firms aswell as of the State, businesses and individuals, and acted against lawenforcement officials, disrupting social order and business activities.Thanks to the government’s timely interference, most affected companieshave returned to work and social order and security has been restored.-VNA
