Statue of late President Ho Chi Minh to be placed in Czech Republic

Vietnamese Ambassadorto the Czech Republic Truong Manh Son made the proposal during a workingsession with senior officials from the Liberec province.

He updated his hosts on Vietnam’s recent socio-economic achievements,highlighting the business potential for enterprises from the CzechRepublic and the Liberec province in particular.

The host welcomed the Vietnamese delegation’s initiative to mark thelate leader’s visit, saying it is significant for the local people aswell as the Vietnamese community in the province.

They also supported the close economic cooperation between the twonations and praised the Vietnamese community in the country for theirhard work and integration into the local society.

Mayor of Chrastava town Michal Canov led the Vietnamese delegationaround the school where the Vietnamese children had studied and receivedPresident Ho Chi Minh in 1957.

The rock column isexpected to be placed in front of the school on the occasion of theupcoming the 70 th anniversary of Vietnamese Independence Day onSeptember 2, according to Son.

There are about 7,000 Vietnamese nationals living, working or studying in the province.-VNA
