Storm-affected residents in Son La to receive rice aid

Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue has entrusted the MpF to provide rice from the national reserves to the northern mountainous province of Son La to aid local people affected by recent storms and floods.

Hanoi (VNA) - Deputy Prime MinisterVuong Dinh Hue has entrusted the Ministry of Finance to provide rice from thenational reserves to the northern mountainous province of Son La to aid localpeople affected by recent storms and floods.

The province is set to receive more than 64tonnes of rice to help the targeted residents.

The Deputy PM urged the provincial People’s Committees to promptlydistribute the rice to those in need.

The province was also asked to report to the Ministry of Labour,War Invalids and Social Affairs if it needs more rice.

Flash floods triggered by heavy rains left tens of people dead andmissing, and damaged thousands of hectares of crops and many houses in Son Laprovince.-VNA
