The 9th National Symposium on e-government, themed “ Buildinge-government integrated with administrative procedure reform” opened inHo Chi Minh City on July 14.
Thesymposium was organised by the National Steering Committee onInformation Technologies (NSCIT), the Ministry of Information andCommunications (MIC) in cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City People’sCommittee, and the International Data Group (IDG Vietnam).
The annual symposium is regarded as a major forum for experts andleaders at all levels, aiming to further promote deployment ofprogrammes and projects in order to enhance effectiveness ofe-government, reform administrative procedures in parallel withinvestment and development of information technology in State bodies.
The two-day event will hear six reports of Vietnameseand foreign leaders and four special subjects, analysing application ofinformation technology in the Vietnamese Government, the results ofadministrative procedure reform in Vietnam through applying informationtechnology over the past ten years.
Speaking at theconference, Minister of Information and Communications Le Doan Hopasked ministries, sectors and localities to speed up the building ofelectronic government processes and electronic authorities under theguidelines of MIC.
Minister Hop said it is necessaryfor Vietnam to learn from advanced countries in order to build ane-government model with criteria of effectiveness, practicality andsustainability./.
