Tangerine variety in Hoa Binh granted collective trademark

Hoa Binh (VNA) – Atangerine variety grown in Nam Son commune, Tan Lac district of thenorth-western province of Hoa Binh has been granted the collective trademark.

A ceremony to receive the title washeld in the commune on December 24.

Tan Lac district has recordedpositive economic growth over the years, with agriculture production accountingfor 33.7 percent. The district has worked to bolster spearhead products by developingbrands for local farm produce, including Tan Lac chayote, red pomelo andtangerine.

Nam Son commune is currently home tomore than 80ha of tangerine trees, of which 20ha has been harvested.

Dinh Cong Su, Chairman of the People’sCommittee of Tan Lac, said the district will further promote the tangerinetrademark in the locality and build display spaces to introduce the tangerineand other farm produce of the district, along with raising quality of Nam Sontangerine in particular and citrus in mountainous regions in general. -VNA
