TH Group rolls out largest dairy cow project in Central Highlands

TH Group on September 18 began the construction of a high-tech, concentrated dairy cow project in Mo Rai commune, Sa Thay district, the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum.

KonTum (VNA) –
TH Group on September 18 began the construction of ahigh-tech, concentrated dairy cow project in Mo Rai commune, Sa Thay district,the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum.

Withdairy cow farms and a milk processing plant, the project, worth 2.54 trillionVND (109.5 million USD), is the largest of its kind in the Central Highlands.

Covering441ha, the project features two farming models, one of which is a cluster offarms spanning 60 ha and 378ha of meadows, and the other model involves localfarmers in dairy cow breeding through high-tech cooperatives.

Thefarm cluster is set to raise 100,000 cows, using cutting-edge technologies ofIsrael.

Meanwhile,the linkage model targets 20,000 cows, with the participation of about 2,000-4,000households in Sa Thay districts and adjacent areas. Farmers will receivesupport in accessing bank loans to buy dairy cows and build breedingfacilities, and in veterinary medicine and milk sales.

THGroup will continue to pursue the close-loop production system in the project,and plans to roll out similar projects in the Mekong Delta province of An Giangand the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang, aiming to expand its cowherd to 400,000 heads by 2025./.
