Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn on September 19 endorsed a new cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

According to the official Royal Gazette, the king appointed the 36-member cabinet as selected by Anutin, who also serves as Minister of Interior. The cabinet include six deputy prime ministers, four of whom concurrently act as ministers, together with 18 other ministers and 11 deputy ministers. The move followed Anutin's endorsement as the country's new prime minister earlier this month.

The new cabinet will officially assume office after the oath-taking ceremony, which is expected to take place within the next few days.

One of the key and top-priority tasks of Prime Minister Anutin's government in the coming period will be to address the country's economic stagnation and the border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.

ဣ According to a memorandum of agreement between Anutin's Thai Pride Party and the People’s Party, the largest opposition party in the House of Representatives, the new government must dissolve the House within four months from the date of the policy declaration before the National Assembly to pave the way for a new general election in Thailand./.

Under the deal, about 80% of Indonesia’s exports to the EU will see tariffs eliminated within one to two years after the agreement takes effect.
