Thai provinces join hands to bring their goods to Cambodia

The Thai provinces of Surin and Buriram have joined hands bringing their OTOP products to Cambodia, as they plan to expand the market to neighbouring countries.

More than 100 OTOP producers from thetwo provinces and Nakhonratchasima travelled to Allongweng District ofUdonmechai Province in Cambodia on March 19 to take part in anexhibition showcasing their products to the locals.

The effortis part of the Interior Ministry’s OTOP promotion policy whichhighlights the expansion of the products’ distribution channel, whilepromoting ties with neighbouring nations.

The event is the firstof its kind in 2015. Officials strongly believe that the fair wouldalso cement the already strong ties between Thais and Cambodian.

The event has opened up rare opportunities for Thai vendors to conduct business matchmaking with their Cambodian counterparts.

Themost popular Thai OTOP items among Cambodian are foods, closelyfollowed by herbal products, cosmetics, silk, and clothes. The fair willbe concluded on Sunday, March 22.-VNA
