Jakarta (VNA)🍌 - Thailand’s new Permanent Representative to the ASEAN Busadee Santipitaks presented credentials to Secretary General of ASEAN Le Luong Minh on December 23.

In a meeting following the presentation ceremony, Secretary- General Minh underscored the vital role of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) in the ASEAN community building process.
The role will be even more instrumental with the adoption of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the new blueprints which chart the future direction for ASEAN in the next 10 years, Minh affirmed. He also expressed his appreciation to Thailand for the country’s contributions and strong commitment to ASEAN while pledging to support Ambassador Santipitaks during her tenure.
For her part, the Thai Ambassador stressed that ASEAN is a cornerstone in Thailand’s foreign policy. She reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the new blueprints as well as the strengthening of cooperation between Thailand and the ASEAN Secretariat. The establishment of ASEAN Community by the end of this year is a landmark development for the region, she said, adding that stronger collaboration among ASEAN member states should be in place to bolster ASEAN community building process.-VNA
