Nay Pyi Taw (VNA) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan arrived at Nay Pyi Taw on September 28 night, beginning her official visit to Myanmar from September 28-29 at the invitation of her Myanmar counterpart Mahn Win Khaing Than.

Ngan was met at the airport by Deputy Speaker of Myanmar’s upper house of parliament Aye Tha Aung and Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Luan Thuy Duong.

The visit of the Vietnamese NA leader aims to reiterate the importance that Vietnam attaches to its ties with Myanmar and the wish to further promote win-win cooperation across the fields between the two countries.

NA Chairwoman Ngan will also attend the 37th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA 37) which will take place in Nay Pyi Taw from September 29 to October 3.

Her attendance of the AIPA 37 aims to uphold the position of Vietnam and its NA at multilat𝄹eral forums, and contribute to regional cooperation and lin♓ks within the AIPA.-VNA
