Hanoi(VNA) – National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan will pay officialvisits to Singapore and Australia from November 26 to December 2, according toa statement of the NA Committee for External Relations released on November 22.
The visits will bemade at the invitation of the parliaments and governments of Singapore andAustralia.
Vietnam and Singapore set up diplomatic ties in August 1, 1973. Singapore is current the sixthlargest trade partner of Vietnam while Vietnam is the 11th biggesttrade partner of Singapore. In the first seven months of 2017, two-way tradehit 5 billion USD, up 16.4 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, Vietnam andAustralia have enjoyed growing partnership. Australia is the 19th largest investor of Vietnam with 407 projects worth 1.85 billion USD. Two-waytrade reached about 5.3 billion USD in 2016, with Vietnam’s exports valued at2.86 billion USD.-VNA
Vietnam attracted more than 1,900 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects from Singaporean businesses in January-October, which were valued at 41.7 billion USD.
President Tran Dai Quang has reassured Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong that Vietnam always encourages Singaporean companies to invest in the country.
Since the Strategic Partnership was established in 2020, Vietnam and New Zealand have witnessed steady growth in the relations. Beyond the remarkable 40% increase in bilateral trade over five years, political relations and multilateral interactions, particularly within the CPTPP framework, have remained highly positive.
