Toyota Vietnam recalls Corolla Altis over faulty rear shock absorber

Toyota Vietnam said it is recalling 16 Corolla Altis 2017 sedans to check and fix their rear shock absorber between now and March 15, 2019.

Hanoi (VNA) - Toyota Vietnam said it is recalling16 Corolla Altis 2017 sedans to check and fix their rear shock absorber betweennow and March 15, 2019.

The cars were made in Vietnam between August 11 and 12 lastyear. Due to a production mistake, their rear shock absorber are spun ratherthan staying in its fixed position, thus posing a risk of colliding withsurrounding features and making noise.

The faulty can be fixed in about two hours per car free ofcharge at Toyota agents nationwide.

Toyota Vietnam said it has to date recorded no reports onabnormal noise from customers. It is recalling the cars to ensure benefits forclients.

The upgraded Corolla Altis 2017 was introduced in Augustlast year and became available for purchase at the end of September. It hasfive models, sold at prices ranging between 702 to 936 million VND (30,958 –41,277 USD).-VNA
