Tra fish exports bounce back

Tra fish exports in the first nine months of this year increased 0.2 percent to over 1.27 billion USD against the same period last year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP).

Despite a decline of 5.8 percent from the same periodlast year, the European Union and the United States remained Vietnamesetra fish’s largest importers.

Tra fish exports to the EU and USmarkets accounted for 20.4 percent and 18.9 percent of the country’stotal export value of the item, respectively.

ASEAN ranked thirdamong Vietnam’s tra importer. In the reviewed period, Vietnam’s tra fishexport turnover to the bloc reached 102 million USD or a 12.4 percentrise over the same period last year.

Thailand led the association in importing Vietnam’s tra fish, followed by Singapore and the Philippines.-VNA
