Hanoi (VNA) – Vice Presidentof the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) Nguyen Thi Thu Hong helda working session with a delegation from the Central Committee of the LaoFederation of Trade Unions (LFTU) led by its Vice President Tong Yia Yang YongSheng in Hanoi on September 19.

Hong said the VGCL is preparing for its 12th congress in September, adding that she highly values the two sides’ work in carryingout a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation for 2013-2018,focusing on personnel training and capacity improvement for Lao trade unionofficials.

The Lao official said the delegation hadheld working sessions with trade unions of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry andMinistry of Natural Resources and Environment to share experience.

He said the LFTU is preparing for congressesat the grassroots level towards holding its National Congress in late 2019.

The host lauded close collaboration betweenthe two countries’ trade unions.-VNA
