Da Nang (VNA)💫 – A training programme on management ofhealth for workers at workplaces is underway in the central city of Da Nangfrom May 5-7, attracting medical workers from preventive medical centres in 24provinces and cities. 


The programme was co-organised by the Health Ministry’sHealth Environment Management Agency and the National University of Singapore (NUS)on the occasion of the Action Month for Labour Safety and Hygiene.

NUS experts shared experience in medical workers’ role in labouraccidents, occupational health situation and services, and health check-upmanagement at workplaces.

Prof. Norbert Wagner from NUS said noise, dust, hazardouschemicals and unsafe machines in workplaces all affect workers’ health somedical workers should help devise plans to respond to emergency cases, holdtraining courses on first aid to workers, and raise their awareness of labourhygiene and occupational disease prevention.

He stressed the need to investigate accidents at work tohelp victims receive satisfactory treatment and compensation and promptemployers to take proper measures to ensure workers’ health and safety.

A 2023 report by the Vietnam Health Economics Association estimated that the total cost of tobacco-related healthcare and economic losses reached 108 trillion VND (4.14 billion USD) annually – equivalent to 1.14% of GDP and five times higher than the budget revenue generated by the tobacco industry.

🍸 Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
