Hanoi (VNA) - Two more deaths related to COVID-19 with underlying healthconditions were announced on July 12 evening, both in southern Dong Thap province.
Thenew fatalities brought Vietnam’s death toll throughout the pandemic to 125, saidthe Treatment Subcommittee under the National Steering Committee for COVID-19Prevention and Control.
Oneof the deceased was a 78-year-old woman from Sa Dec city. She suffered fromgastrointestinal infections, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease and livercancer.
Shewas treated in Sa Dec General Hospital in the province and died on July 9.
Hercause of death was recorded as septic shock in a patient with severe pneumonia,end-stage chronic kidney disease, liver cancer and SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Thesecond death was a 63-year-old woman from the province’s Chau Thanh district.
Hermedical history included stage 5 chronic renal failure, hypertension, type 2diabetes and Cushing’s syndrome.
Shewas also treated in the Sa Dec General Hospital and also died on July 9.
Hercause of death was recorded as severe pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2 infectioncomplicated by progressive respiratory failure in a patient with end-stagechronic renal failure and type 2 diabetes./.
Four more deaths related to COVID-19 were announced on July 6 morning, all of them elderly women with serious underlying health issues in Hanoi, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Ho Chi Minh City.
The Sub-committee for Treatment under the National Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced on July 7 morning five COVID-19 deaths, four of them were not suffering from underlying health issues.
Five more COVID-19 related deaths in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap were confirmed on July 9 afternoon, pushing the nation’s death toll to 110.
